Michigan’s Laws Enable Voter Fraud, Case of Chinese National Voting Proves It

Democrats Outlawed Critical Election Integrity and Oversight Measures;
Illegal, Fraudulent Voting is the Direct Consequence

Yesterday, news emerged that a Chinese national, a student at the University of Michigan, voted in the 2024 Presidential election. This ballot, now cast, has been submitted and will be counted according to state officials.

This story has been covered in several national media outlets. What is being lightly reported is that the reason this story is known, is because the local clerk made a referral to law enforcement.

“If this clerk had not done the honest thing, and just ignored the voter and the problem, we would never know about this problem,” said Rep. Rachelle Smit. “The problem is that, this past May, Michigan Democrats outlawed election integrity wholesale. They outlawed voter fraud investigations. They outlawed challenging clerks. They have found ways to make the entire process insecure.”

Rep. Smit continued, “No matter what the results are on Tuesday, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson should be ashamed of herself and the public’s confidence in our results will be low, because of the legal changes made to make our elections more insecure. If you want reliable elections, you need security, oversight, accountability, and public review of the process. Democrats are to blame for this debacle.”

Rep. Rachelle Smit is the Minority Vice-Chair of the House Committee on Elections.  A former Township Clerk, she was elected in 2022 to District 43, representing Allegan County, and parts of Barry, Eaton, and Ottawa counties.
