Rep. Andrew Beeler, R-Port Huron, on Monday issued the following statement:

“This Tax Day, Michiganders are receiving larger refunds or sending smaller checks to the state government thanks to an income tax cut that Republicans secured for every Michigan taxpayer. Enjoy it while it lasts.

“After Democrats unsuccessfully tried to block this tax relief, they used dishonest legal maneuvering and raised the tax rate back up on January 1 to pay for wasteful spending. Michiganders deserve permanent relief, and I’ll work to undo this disastrous tax hike.”

Beeler worked to deliver the income tax cut to 4.05% last year.
